Christian Baptism is the immersion in water of the believer in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Being baptised does not mean that you are saved; accepting Christ as your personal Lord and Savior through an act of faith is what saves you.
It is an act of obedience symbolizing the believer's faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Savior, the believer's death to sin, the burial of the old life, and the resurrection to walk in a newness of life in Jesus. Once you have given your life to Jesus, baptism is a declaration that you make to your church family and God that you will follow Him.
Being a church ordinance, baptism is a prerequisite to church membership at Trinity Baptist church.
