Community Missions

Jerusalem & Judea (local community)

In order to reach out to our local area, Trinity Baptist Church established the Jerusalem Project. The Jerusalem Project attempts to share the love of Jesus Christ with the local community through random acts of kindness. Over the past two years Jerusalem Projects have included neighborhood and park clean-up throughout Cayce and West Columbia, taking donuts and Valentine candy with notes of encouragement to all Lexington School District 2 employees, doing landscaping work and building a new playground for a local trailer park community, and cooking lunch for all of the area municipal workers including area policemen and firefighters. We also provided meals and clothing to Hurricane Katrina evacuees.

Trinity Baptist Church has entered into a partnership with Davis Elementary school and as such has repaired playground equipment, built benches, tables, sandboxes, etc. and cut back undergrowth to make the payground more usable and attractive.

One of the most memorable of our many Jerusalem Projects were the years we held "Operation Christmas", which provided over 100 families in need with warm meals, new Christmas gifts for their children, and the Good News of Jesus Christ!

The Jerusalem Project is great for Christians who want to participate in missions but are unable to travel. It is not unlikely to see over 300 volunteers at any given Jerusalem Project!
